Royal roses named after Kate and William
Friday 22 April 2011Two roses named after Prince William and Kate Middleton have been planted in Windsor Great Park alongside other royal blossoms.
The Catherine and Royal William roses were planted in neighbouring flower beds in a royal rose garden to mark next week's wedding. Mark Flanagan, keeper of the Savill Garden, said the Catherine rose was peachy pink and sweet-scented. The Royal William, previously Rose of the Year in 1987, is a vibrant red.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will also plant a special tree to mark their marriage. The tree is nicknamed Wedding Cake due to its horizontal, tiered branches and star-shaped white flowers in the summer.
