Kate’s parents meet the Queen
Thursday 21 April 2011Kate Middleton's parents were formally introduced to the Queen for the first time yesterday. Her Majesty invited Carole, 56, and Michael Middleton, 61, for lunch at Windsor Castle to get to know them better ahead of the 29-year-old's Royal Wedding to Prince William.
Kate and William, 28, have been together since 2001 but it's only been now, with the wedding approaching, that the Queen has felt the need to meet her grandson's future in-laws. She wanted to welcome them to the family, said an inside source.
Kate Middleton and Prince William will get married on 29 April at Westminster Abbey.
