Miss America crowned
Monday 1 February 2010Caressa Cameron, a 22-year-old broadcast journalism student at Virginia Commonwealth University, won the title of Miss America 2010, during a ceremony that took place in Las Vegas.
The beauty has impressed the judges with her rendition of Beyonce’s hit “Listen” from the film “Dreamgirls” and by telling kids to turn off the TV and to get outside and exercise during the interview segment of the competition. By earning her Miss America crown, she won a $50,000 scholarship.
During her year-long reign, she will be representing the organization. Judges for the event included radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, Vivica A. Fox, musician Dave Koz, American Idol's Brooke White and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson.
